Audio/Video Production 1 & 2

Audio/Video Production is the process of taking an idea and producing it into media that either entertains or informs. It is distributed through TV, radio, film or Internet. These four mediums each have hundreds of subcategories. The trick is knowing how to take an idea from pre-planning to a finished professional production that people want to engage, and choosing a method of distribution
to reach an audience.

COURSE OVERVIEW:
1ST YEAR (DOE COURSE: RADIO & TELEVISION I-5986)
  • Students will gain working knowledge of the
    audio/video industry, including creating concepts, scripts, production, recording, and editing using professional radio and video equipment
  • Students will get practical experience in field
    production, video editing, and live studio production
  • Students will learn film production, including
    planning, budgeting, scheduling, working with actors/crew, story development and script writing, character development, composition and visual design, and audio production, utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud software
  • Students learn how to produce an original 15-90
    second stop motion animation short film
COURSE OVERVIEW:
2ND YEAR (DOE COURSE: RADIO & TELEVISION II-5992)
  • Students will assist in operations of
    closed-circuit TV and HD radio station
  • Students will strengthen their pre-production,
    production and post-production skills
  • Prerequisite: Audio/Video Production 1
(DOE COURSE: RADIO & TELEVISION I-5986) CAREER FOCUS
  • Students will be prepared for entry-level
    employment in film production broadcast television/radio, or independent audio/video production for internet and other media outlets
